About the Product
Amix Mr. Popper's® Gluten-Free Oat Flakes are whole grain gluten-free oat flakes, produced exclusively from Irish oats certified by the OatSecure™ process, which guarantees the absence of cross-contamination with gluten from the field to the packaging. Presented in 1000g packaging with a single ingredient: hulled whole grain oats. No additives, no sweeteners, no flavorings, and no additional processing other than flaking. Whole grain oat flakes are one of the lowest glycemic index complex carbohydrate sources available, rich in beta-glucan (soluble fiber), complete plant protein, B complex vitamins, minerals (iron, magnesium, zinc), and antioxidants (avenanthramides). The gluten-free certification by the OatSecure™ process makes this product accessible to people with non-celiac gluten sensitivity or who follow gluten-free diets by choice.
Benefits
Gluten-free certification by the Irish OatSecure™ process: Oats are naturally gluten-free in their composition but are often contaminated with gluten during cultivation, harvesting, storage, and processing, due to sharing equipment and facilities with cereals such as wheat, barley, and rye. The OatSecure™ process implements a complete traceability and segregation system from certified seed to final packaging, ensuring that oat flakes do not come into contact with gluten sources at any stage of the production chain. This certification is essential for people with celiac disease who tolerate pure oats (a significant subgroup of celiacs can consume gluten-free oats without an immune reaction) and for those following a strictly gluten-free diet.
Beta-glucan for cardiovascular health, glycemic control, and satiety: Beta-glucan is a soluble fiber for which oats are the most concentrated dietary source available, with an exceptional scientific evidence profile. As recognized by EFSA, oat beta-glucan demonstrably contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels (with an intake of 3 g/day) and to the reduction of post-prandial glycemic response (by slowing gastric emptying and glucose absorption). Beta-glucan forms a viscous gel in the intestine that slows down carbohydrate digestion, resulting in slower and more gradual glucose absorption and a prolonged feeling of satiety, especially relevant for athletes in weight control or caloric restriction phases.
Complete nutritional profile: protein, B vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants: Whole grain oat flakes have an exceptional nutritional profile among cereals, combining low glycemic index complex carbohydrates with a relevant amount of plant protein (approximately 13 to 17 g/100 g) with a more complete amino acid profile than most cereals, B complex vitamins (B1, B5, B6, folate), minerals (iron, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus, manganese), and avenanthramides, unique oat antioxidants with anti-inflammatory and cardioprotective properties. Whole grain oats preserve all these properties because they include the bran and germ, unlike refined or instant oats which partially remove them.
Low glycemic index for stable energy and glycemic control: The glycemic index of whole oat flakes is significantly lower than that of most processed cereals and fast-absorbing carbohydrates (white rice, white bread, refined breakfast cereals). The combination of beta-glucan, resistant starch, and insoluble fiber results in slow digestion and absorption, with a smooth and prolonged post-prandial glycemic profile, ideal for pre-workout breakfast (provides stable energy for 2 to 3 hours without insulin spikes) and for long-term body composition (less fat accumulation due to lower insulin response).
Single ingredient, no additives: Gluten-Free Oat Flakes have whole grain oats as their single ingredient, without any additives, sweeteners, flavorings, preservatives, or other ingredients. This total purity makes them a staple food of choice for athletes and highly nutrition-conscious individuals who want full control over what they consume, adding their own ingredients according to the nutritional goal of each meal.
Uses
Porridge: Mix 40 to 60 g of flakes with 200 to 300 ml of water or milk (dairy or plant-based) and cook for 3 to 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring regularly, or prepare in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes. Add fresh fruit, nuts, protein powder, honey, or other ingredients to taste.
Overnight oats (cold preparation): Mix 40 to 60 g of flakes with 150 ml of milk or yogurt and leave in the refrigerator overnight. Consume cold the next day with fruit, seeds, or nut butter. This method best preserves the beta-glucan and nutritional properties of oats.
As an ingredient in recipes: Use as a base for homemade granola, an ingredient in pancakes, muffins, energy bars, protein porridges, or as a natural thickener for smoothies and yogurts.
