About the Product
Dirty Squads' ISO 90X is a premium, cold microfiltered whey protein isolate (WPI) from exclusively grass-fed cows. Each 30g serving provides 24.98g of pure protein (84% protein purity), with extremely clean nutritional values: only 0.51g of fat, 0.75g of carbohydrates, and 0.29g of sugar per serving. The formula is enriched with DigeZyme®, a patented multi-enzyme complex that aids protein digestion and absorption, reducing gastrointestinal discomfort. Sweetened exclusively with sucralose, with no added sugar. Available in Vanilla, Chocolate, Caramel, Strawberry, and Cookies and Cream flavors. 908g per package (~30 servings).
Benefits
84% protein purity with only 30g per serving: the protein density of a premium grass-fed isolate: With 24.98g of protein per 30g serving, ISO 90X has a protein-to-serving ratio of 83.3%, which is one of the highest protein densities available in flavored protein powders on the European market. This high purity is a direct consequence of the cold-processed cross-flow microfiltration used to produce the isolate: unlike whey concentrate (WPC), which typically contains 70 to 80% protein with significant lactose, fat, and carbohydrate presence, WPI undergoes additional filtration steps that remove almost all fats, cholesterol, and lactose, resulting in a product with 90% or more protein in the raw material before the addition of flavors and other ingredients.
Grass-fed and cold processing: raw material quality and preservation of bioactive protein fractions: Dirty Squads specifies that the whey used in ISO 90X comes from grass-fed cows, which has both nutritional and ethical implications. From a nutritional standpoint, milk from grass-fed cows has a more favorable lipid profile (higher omega-3/omega-6 ratio, higher conjugated linoleic acid/CLA concentration) compared to milk from cows fed corn and soy rations, which is reflected in the overall quality of the derived whey. Cold processing is equally relevant: high heat, used in many protein pasteurization and drying processes, can denature the bioactive protein fractions of whey (lactoferrin, immunoglobulins, beta-lactoglobulin, alpha-lactalbumin) which have documented functional properties beyond simple amino acid supply. Cold processing preserves these fractions in their native conformation, maximizing the biological and functional value of the final product.
Zero amino spiking: guarantee that 84% is pure whey protein, not cheap free amino acids: Amino spiking (or protein spiking) is a dishonest practice that involves adding cheap free amino acids (typically glycine, taurine, creatine, or glutamine) to protein powder to artificially increase the nitrogen content measured by conventional analytical methods (Kjeldahl method and Dumas method), which measure total nitrogen and do not distinguish protein from free amino acids. Since free amino acids are much cheaper than whey isolate, amino spiking allows manufacturers to declare a seemingly high protein content with a lower raw material cost. Dirty Squads explicitly states that ISO 90X does not contain amino spiking, meaning the declared 84% protein corresponds exclusively to whey protein isolate, without added free amino acids to inflate the analytical value.
DigeZyme®: patented multi-enzyme complex for optimized digestion and maximum absorption: DigeZyme® (a registered trademark of Sabinsa Corporation) is a multi-enzyme complex of microbial origin that includes five main digestive enzymes: amylase (which hydrolyzes starches and polysaccharides into simple sugars), protease (which hydrolyzes proteins into peptides and amino acids), lipase (which hydrolyzes fats into fatty acids and glycerol), cellulase (which hydrolyzes cellulose), and lactase (which hydrolyzes lactose into glucose and galactose, making the product more suitable for people with lactose sensitivity). The inclusion of DigeZyme® in a whey isolate that is already naturally very low in lactose (less than 1% after the microfiltration process) is particularly relevant for protein digestion: DigeZyme®'s protease partially pre-hydrolyzes the protein chains of WPI, reducing the time and digestive effort required to convert protein into absorbable amino acids, which is especially relevant in the post-workout context where the speed of amino acid availability to muscles is a critical factor.
Complete amino acid profile with high concentration of BCAAs and glutamine: Whey protein isolate has one of the most complete and relevant amino acid profiles for muscle protein synthesis of all available protein sources. Naturally rich in branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs: leucine, isoleucine, and valine), with emphasis on leucine, the main activator of the mTOR pathway that regulates muscle protein synthesis. WPI typically has 10 to 11g of BCAAs per 100g of protein and 5 to 6g of glutamine + glutamic acid, which supports muscle recovery and immune function after training. The high biological value (approximate BV of 104 for WPI) reflects the excellent utilization of its amino acids by the body for the synthesis of new muscle proteins.
Ultra-clean nutritional profile: ideal for cutting phases and strict calorie-controlled diets: With only 0.51g of fat, 0.75g of carbohydrates, and 0.29g of sugar per 30g serving, ISO 90X is one of the most macronutritionally "clean" protein powders available on the market, suitable for contexts where fat and carbohydrate intake should be minimized: body cutting phases, ketogenic or low-carb diets, and hypocaloric weight control diets where every calorie counts. With no added sugar, sweetened exclusively with sucralose (a high-intensity calorie-free sweetener), ISO 90X does not contribute to insulin spikes or unnecessary caloric intake.
Uses
Recommended dose: Mix 1 serving (30g, 1 scoop) with 200 to 300ml of cold water. Shake vigorously in a shaker for 15 to 20 seconds until completely dissolved. For a creamier texture, you can use skim milk (keeping in mind that milk adds calories, protein, and carbs to the total nutritional profile of the serving).
When to consume: ISO 90X is especially suitable for consumption immediately after training (post-workout anabolic window), a period when the rapid availability of amino acids is critical to initiate muscle protein synthesis and reduce catabolism. It can also be consumed at any other time of day as a convenient source of high-quality protein to meet daily total protein intake goals.
