About the Product
Amix Vitamin C 1000 is a high-concentration Vitamin C supplement in vegetable capsules, providing 1000 mg of pure ascorbic acid per capsule, complemented with rosehip extract (Rosa canina L., fruit) as a natural source of complementary bioflavonoids and antioxidants. The formula uses CRT-ss (Controlled Release Technology Support System), a prolonged and gradual release system that improves the absorption and bioavailability of Vitamin C over several hours, avoiding the acute plasma peaks and rapid urinary excretion associated with conventional immediate-release Vitamin C. Pack of 100 capsules, dosage of 1 capsule per day. Vegetable capsule without animal gelatin, suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets. Aspartame-free.
Benefits
1000 mg of pure ascorbic acid with CRT-ss prolonged-release technology: Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin with saturable intestinal absorption capacity: the absorption rate is very high for doses up to 200 mg (over 90%) and progressively declines for higher doses, with the excess being rapidly eliminated in the urine. The CRT-ss prolonged-release technology partially solves this problem by gradually releasing ascorbic acid over 4 to 8 hours, maintaining more stable and prolonged plasma concentrations compared to immediate release, which translates into greater effective bioavailability of the total 1000 mg dose. For athletes and people with high Vitamin C needs, this prolonged-release approach maximizes the utilization of the total ingested dose.
Rosehip extract for complementary antioxidants and enhanced efficacy: Rosehip (Rosa canina) is one of the richest food sources of natural Vitamin C, but its inclusion in Amix Vitamin C 1000 is not as an additional source of ascorbic acid: it is as a supplier of bioflavonoids, polyphenols, and other antioxidant compounds that act synergistically with synthetic Vitamin C. Rosehip bioflavonoids, including rutin, quercetin, and hesperidin, modulate the antioxidant activity of Vitamin C, improve its cellular stability, and enhance its ability to protect cell membranes and blood vessels from oxidative stress. This combination of synthetic Vitamin C with plant extracts rich in bioflavonoids is an approach widely used in higher quality Vitamin C supplements.
Immunity and antioxidant protection proven by EFSA: Vitamin C has one of the strongest scientific evidence profiles of all micronutrients, with multiple EFSA-approved health claims. Vitamin C demonstrably contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system, both under normal conditions and during and after intense physical exercise (one of the few health claims specifically approved in an exercise context). It also contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, to normal collagen formation for the normal function of bones, cartilage, gums, skin, teeth and blood vessels, and to improved absorption of non-heme iron from plant sources.
Support especially relevant for athletes with high training volume: Intense physical exercise produces significantly greater amounts of reactive oxygen species (free radicals) than the resting state, creating a state of post-exercise oxidative stress that can damage muscle cell membranes and compromise recovery. Vitamin C is the primary water-soluble antioxidant in plasma and tissues, being mobilized to neutralize these post-exercise free radicals. In athletes with high training volumes, Vitamin C needs are significantly higher than those of the general population, making supplementation at 1000 mg/day a relevant approach to ensure adequate antioxidant availability during peaks of post-training oxidative stress.
Support for collagen synthesis for joint and connective tissue health: Vitamin C is an essential and indispensable cofactor for the enzymes prolyl hydroxylase and lysyl hydroxylase, responsible for the hydroxylation of proline and lysine in the synthesis of mature collagen. Without sufficient Vitamin C, the synthesized collagen has a defective structure and lower mechanical resistance, compromising the integrity of tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and other connective tissues. For athletes with high mechanical demands on connective tissues, support for collagen synthesis is one of the most relevant properties of Vitamin C in a sports context.
Vegetable capsule for vegetarian and vegan diets: Amix Vitamin C 1000 is formulated in hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) capsules, without animal gelatin, making it suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets and for anyone who avoids animal products for ethical, religious, or dietary preference reasons.
